More local history from 1964 Oxford Times article and interesting to note is the photo of one of BritIsh Waterways fledgling hire fleet at the Jericho Wharves ( includes Castlemill boatyard).  It is argued that without this hire fleet BW may never have existed.

The original map of the site 1842 showing land owned by Henry Ward 'a boatbuilder of Jericho' . Land infront of St Barnabus therefore  Castlemill yard. Please note BW historians PR  dept who say it's only been there 6 years.  Still  &quotHistory is History"  as Craig Randall BW estates man says.
